Teeth Whitening

Laser Teeth Whitening

Laser teeth whitening is administered in a dental office exclusively, and is the most expensive method for whitening. All forms of teeth whitening work by releasing oxygen ions from a tooth whitening gel, which gently lift stains from the teeth. The laser simply lifts the stains faster. Another advantage of the laser is that (depending on the type of laser used) it can more easily be used to bleach one tooth at a time. This is helpful when one tooth is more discolored than the surrounding teeth.

Opalescence Boost

Opalescence Boost is a chemically activated power whitening gel that provides brighter, whiter teeth after just 40 minutes in the dental chair. The powerful 40% hydrogen peroxide gel is chemically activated, so it doesn’t require a hot, uncomfortable light to work.

Opalescence Boost consists of two syringes: The first contains 38 percent hydrogen peroxide, the active tooth whitening ingredient. The second syringe contains fluoride and potassium nitrate (PF), which helps strengthen tooth enamel, reduce sensitivity and protect against cavities. When mixed, the gel produces a distinct red color to help ensure correct placement and full removal of the product.

Safe and effective, Opalescence Boost usually takes only one dental visit to complete. While one visit is all you need to achieve a brighter smile, difficult stains or extreme discoloration may require additional treatments.

At Wheatland Family Dental, Opalescence Boost is just one of many teeth whitening options. Call us at 316-295-2830 to schedule a consultation.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening Trays

Take-Home Whitening Trays

Take-home teeth whitening trays are very popular because it can be done in the comfort and privacy of your home, whenever it is convenient for you. Available for sensitive and non-sensitive teeth, each kit consists of dental trays and teeth-whitening gel. The trays are customized to fit over your teeth and whiten them through a special gel placed inside the trays.

Take-home trays are engineered for anyone to use. Once the trays are tailored for your teeth, you take them home and follow the guidelines given by our dentist on how to perform the procedure yourself. The time period for wearing the trays varies according to your teeth whitening needs.

This is a useful, easy and cost-effective option for obtaining a sparkling smile. Keep in mind that, even as this method offers great results, it can take longer than other treatments performed by our dentist and doesn't always work for deep stains.
